Un-Convention is a series of music conferences, events and projects to support the makers and champions of independent music. Our goal is to bring together like-minded individuals to discuss the future of the sector and to generate new models for sustainable careers.
Over the last twelve years we have produced over one hundred music conferences and events to bring together those working in the independent music sector. As a result of these events we have set up a national gig network that includes artists from 85 towns and cities across the UK, helped to establish a number of music co-operatives in Africa, developed long-term projects to engage with young people and curated festival stages to showcase emerging talent. If you are interested in working with us, or finding out more then please feel free to contact us.
UN-CONVENTION MANCHESTER 2021
We are absolutely delighted to announce that the 106th Un-Convention will take place in Manchester on the 8th and 9th July 2021.
The conference will bring together artists, professionals and organisations from the independent music sector to reflect on how the industry and music scenes have adapted, the lessons we have learnt over the last year, and how we can work together to ensure a brighter future.
We see this as an opportunity to reconvene those working at the coalface of independent music; the self-releasing artists and cutting-edge labels, risk-taking promoters, venues and festivals still looking to push new talent against all odds, and the managers, producers, writers and innovators whose dedication, vision and belief make this such an exciting place to be.
We are incredibly proud of the resilience and camaraderie demonstrated by those working in the sector during the most testing of times. If you make or champion independent music then we hope you can join us to reconnect, forge new relationships, share experiences and ideas, and plan for a better future.
We have an exciting range of brilliant speakers and panellists to announce in the coming weeks, along with full details of the two-day programme. Safety will be paramount, and the event will be run in accordance with COVID-19 regulations.
Previous years’ events have sold out in advance, with delegates joining us from over 40 towns and cities across the UK. We are anticipating that capacity this year will be restricted - for now there are a very limited number of conference tickets available here.
All tickets are fully refundable should restrictions prevent attendance, and we will also be announcing details of concessionary and complimentary tickets for those who have been adversely affected by the pandemic.
We hope you can join us.
