Un-Convention Manchester 2023

We are delighted to announce that our 15th Anniversary Un-Convention music conference will take place in Manchester on the 20th and 21st October 2023.

We will once again be bringing together hundreds of artists, managers
, labels, promoters, and festivals from over 50 towns and cities across the UK to explore the current state of the sector, build networks, and to develop ideas and actions for a more sustainable, diverse, and equitable music industry.

This will be our 111th Un-Convention, and we are excited to be working with a host of partners both from the UK and Europe to deliver this anniversary event. Over two days, we will explore ideas for building sustainable careers in music, effective release and live strategies, the challenges for artists and organisations in the modern era, developing regional scenes, music and well-being, and a host of other key issues in the current industry.

For the last fifteen years Un-Convention has provided a platform for the makers and champions of independent music to build networks, share knowledge, and develop new ways of working. If you're involved in the sector, then we do hope you can join us in Manchester this October.

The conference will take place at Band on the Wall, and the Methodist Central Hall in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Please be aware that Un-Convention Manchester ordinarily sells out in advance, so we do recommend securing tickets as soon as possible. A limited number of early bird tickets are currently available for £35

We also have available an allocation of free tickets for the unwaged and those whose financial circumstances may prevent them from attending the event. Please  enail tickets@unconventionhub.org if you require a free ticket. Free carer tickets are also available.

Un-Convention + Manchester Folk Festival

This year's Un-Convention music industry conference coincides with Manchester Folk Festival and as such the two organisations have come together for the first time to offer a combined ticket. This means you can attend both Un-Convention Manchester and Manchester Folk Festival for just £120 – a £25 saving on buying separate tickets.

Make a jam-packed long weekend of it (Thurs – Sat) by soaking up all of the knowledge that Un-Convention has to offer during the day (Fri 20th & Sat 21st Oct) and then relax at some fantastic folk, roots and acoustic music gigs in the evening (Thurs 19th – Sat 21st Oct.)

Manchester Folk Festival runs alongside English Folk Expo, which means you will watch the evening gigs alongside 150+ specially selected music industry representatives from across the world, including booking agents, festival programmers, promoters, labels and more - offering fantastic networking potential!

Plesse note, if you have already purchased tickets for the Un-Convention conference and wish to upgrade to a bundle ticket then please email tickets@unconventionhub.org
