Andrew Senior was born and brought up in Yorkshire in the north of England. He is a leading expert in the field of the creative economy and is particularly interested in entrepreneurship, copyright and policy making.
A lawyer by profession, Andrew joined the British Council in 1999 to establish a new unit to support the British Council’s interest in the emerging agenda around creative industries. He led the strategic development of that programme until 2010. Since 2007 the Creative and Knowledge Economy has been one of three central areas of British Council activity.
In 2010 Andrew left the British Council to establish his own agency, Andrew Senior Associates Ltd, which provides specialist advice on the development of the creative economy, with a particular focus on nurturing and stimulating entrepreneurship within the sector.
Andrew has advised UN agencies on the creative economy and is much in demand as a conference chair, speaker and lecturer across the world. He continues to seek to devise programmes and initiatives that will assist in the development of the global creative economy.
